The Saskatoon Housing Authority (SHA) provides safe, quality housing at an affordable rent to low-to-moderate income seniors, couples, families and individuals.  The SHA have two rental programs: fixed rent and income-based rent—with an additional option, life-lease, for seniors and persons requiring wheelchair accessibility.  Pets are not allowed in any of their accommodations.

Although programs have specific eligibility criteria, housing is targeted to households whose income is too low to obtain accommodation in the private market without spending more than 30% of household income on housing costs.  Priority for entry is determined on an assessed need basis.

SHA administers and manages over 2,600 housing units for:

  • Families
    • low income households
    • fixed rent and income-based rent
  • Seniors
    • for persons 60 years of age or over
    • fixed rent, income-based rent and life-lease
