Community Advisory Board on Saskatoon Homelessness
Homelessness has become a growing issue in our city. The high cost of housing is a contributing factor, but people become homeless through a variety of factors including family breakup, violence, physical disability, mental health and addictions.
Since 1999, the Community Advisory Board on Saskatoon Homelessness has established community priorities through research and community consultation, and has recommend projects to be funded through federal homelessness programs.
In 2012, the Saskatoon Housing Initiatives Partnership took administrative and managerial responsibility for the delivery of the Federal Homelessness Partnering Strategy fund for the City of Saskatoon and created the Community Advisory Board on Saskatoon Homelessness.
The Community Advisory Board on Saskatoon Homelessness (CAB) is a coalition of community organizations and all levels of government. We believe that by working together, we can end homelessness in Saskatoon.
- Implementing the Regional Homelessness Plan.
- Recommending projects for funding under Reaching Home: Canada’s Homelessness Strategy.
- Developing a regional understanding of homelessness.
